Pending…

Lots of things seem to be pending at the moment… the Charities’ Commission application form – pending; applying for funding from various sources – pending; plans that certain fisheries have to improve access, etc. for disabled or less mobile anglers – pending; the Great British Summer – pending; the next heat of the Wales Carp [...]

I didn’t blank!

Okay, the only fish I did catch during the match wasn’t a carp – but if I’d been fishing the Welsh Pike Masters…

… then this 15lb pike would’ve been fine! Oh well, that’s fishing, isn’t it?
I’ll put my venue report up later this week – as you can imagine, I’m taking a little [...]

Saturday round-up…

I had an e-mail from Matt Pengelly (BBC Cornwall) yesterday saying that the film about Nick is now a Video Nation! That’s brilliant, Matt, thank you! Click here to view it… and here’s what he said about Nick and the Buddy System:
Nick has set up a buddy system where able-bodied anglers who would [...]

Wales Carp Masters penultimate qualifier begins…

Nick and Joe were the first names out this morning and they drew Peg 5 – otherwise known as Paul’s Post. Apparently, if the lake really starts to fish well, this is one of the most popular pegs, which is obviously a bonus.
They had both started to set up by the time he phoned me [...]

New sponsor for Reels on Wheels!

Yes, we have a very important new sponsor – welcome aboard PROLOGIC. Nick and I would like to thank them very much for their support and for clothing the Reels on Wheels Carp Masters Team in Max-1 matching outfits which will be on parade tomorrow morning at the draw!
Now judging by the size and quality of [...]

Guess what? It’s raining again…

Yep… more rain – in Wales, over Nick! True to his nickname, the Man from Atlantis has struck again. I spoke to Nick this morning to find it was raining, windy and he’s lost all power in the Buddy Bus.
That will hopefully be remedied later today after a helping hand from Martin Cronin [...]

Road Trip to Wales

Nick left here at 1.30am today and he’s just phoned to say he arrived at Peterstone Fishery at around 4.30am, which is pretty fair travelling. When asked what the fishery was like, he said, “It’s big!” (We didn’t speak for long as Martin was about to take him on a tour of the fishery…)
I put [...]

It’s that Saturday again…

Yep – you’ll hear nothing from me today – I’m watching Fish O’Mania on Sky Sports TV this afternoon. I’ve been fed and watered too! I think it’s probably the best place for most anglers to be given the awful weather and localised flooding in the Uk at present. It’s absolutely shocking, isn’t it?
If you [...]

Now we wait…

Good news – the application form has finally been completed, all the accompanying documents have been checked, re-checked and copied, all the press clippings have been enclosed, along with a DVD of my two interviews on ITV and BBC and they hit the postbox today.
Fingers crossed now, as all we can do is [...]

Welcome aboard!

I’m proud and excited to welcome aboard Giles Cochrane as a Reels on Wheels Patron. I’ve exchanged e-mails with Giles over the last week or so and asked him if he’d consider becoming a patron. Luckily for us, he agreed. Thanks Giles and I look forward to getting to know you in the near future.
Giles [...]
