Vlogging!

Nick’s been busy putting video footage up on YouTube. It seems a shame not to, when he has been doing the odd filming at fisheries and it’s also handy to store the TV interviews which took place earlier this year on another server in case…

I spoke to Mrs Pooley at Adamsfield [...]

Interesting times we live in…

As a result of Sophie Pierce’s Telegraph article, two surprises awaited us yesterday – both via email. The first was an approach from the Angling Development Board, who seek a meeting of minds to discuss furthering equality in angling.
The second was from Buff Wear, who have offered to design a Reels on Wheels Buff for [...]

Fly-fishing for the disabled… and…

I had a great meeting with Tim James and Tom Hill who are both professional fly-fishing coaches (or instructors, as Tom prefers to be called!) last week and we’ve been in phone contact nearly every day since then, too! We are teaming up with them – Tim is actually registered disabled himself – to offer [...]

BBC Radio Devon

I did an interview with Kirk England from BBC Radio Devon this time last week and it aired on Sunday morning, while I was travelling to market, so I missed it! However, Big Tony told me all about it and Kirk very kindly sent through an MP3 file of the broadcast as it went out… [...]

An ode to Buddies…

The following poem was written by an angler who prefers to remain anonymous. Thanks mate, it’s brilliantly put!
“What is a Buddy?” some might ask,“and was their last name Holly?”
But buddies comes in many Guises – Some own a fishing Trolley.
Buddies stick Forever, without a need for glue,
When you have read the final [...]

Happy Feet!

They were until Sunday morning when I realised just how far I’d walked/run/jogged the night before!! Here’s a slideshow with a few pics of the Procession from my point of view, waiting for the off… surrounded by parents, kids, tractors, officials, marching bands, majorettes, etc.

DD, the Twins and I handed out around 1000 flyers [...]

Daily Telegraph – Weekend Section…

At last, the article that Sophie Pierce wrote back in July has been published in today’s Daily Telegraph, in the Weekend section. It’s a great piece Sophie and you’ve done Nick and Reels on Wheels proud. Thank you!

Carnival Capers…

I really feel for everyone who’s been hit by this awful flu-bug that’s doing the rounds lately. Nick and I were completely floored by it on Monday and Tuesday this week, which was very scary, in  all honesty. After all, I’m supposed to be able to care for him 24/7 (or 5 hours a day!) [...]

Ancaster funds received!

I received the cheque from Stephen Drury & Associates this morning – a whopping £500.00 – the most we’ve managed to raise from one event. Thank you so much Joe and everyone else who helped us to achieve this: Thanks to every angler who participated, everyone who came along and bought a raffle ticket, everyone [...]

We too have the flu!!

We both woke up this morning with feverish cold and flu-like symptoms, which is a pain in the butt… however life goes on. Thanks to the giftware we picked up on Friday, we had a fairly successful day at market yesterday and will be able to bank some more funds tomorrow. At the end of [...]
