Unexpected support!

We recently received a cheque for £200 as a result of an appeal by members of www.worldseafishing.com on behalf of a fellow angler George Thornley.
Our sincere condolences go to George’s friends and family and we’d like to say publicly how very grateful we are to receive this support. It will make a big difference to us, [...]

Four lads try fishing…

The Leonard Cheshire Trust near Braunton first contacted us earlier this year and we finally met Mike – their Risk Assessment Officer a few weeks ago at Bideford Angling Club’s water to see if he considered it appropriate for the most severely disabled, wannabe-anglers we’ve ever come across, as a fishing venue. Nick and I [...]

Beating the Summer Holiday Blues

A staunch Reels on Wheels member – and a great ambassador for angling – Darren Jones, got together with his local fishery to hold a series of matches for Juniors throughout the summer holidays. They were very well attended, despite the lack of sunshine and the whole series was a resounding success.

You can see the lads hovering in the background, waiting (im)patiently!

Jon and Andy soaking up the atmosphere…

Let the fun begin!

Like other anglers who were there this weekend, Jim took his entire family! Katy (wife) helped out Claire, who is a corker of [...]

A taste of festival fun!

Here are some more pics Nick sent through today. Here’s Charlie Flack (Manderson Trust) with Jim (5Cs, also disabled through chemical poisoning – which doesn’t account for the headgear!)

Seb and his Dad (chauffeur, carer, general factotum!)

Apparently, Jim and Seb have made Charlie laugh so much, he was ill… *rolls eyes* Standing next to Seb is Jon [...]

Reels on Wheels 1st Anniversary!

Well, Reels on Wheels is officially over a year old and celebrating the fact this weekend at The Manderson Trust, Over, Cambridgeshire. Nick and Claire arrived there early this morning to prepare for the arrival of guests, erect the Marquee, etc. and meet the Manderson Trustees who graciously rented us Lake No.1 for the weekend’s [...]
