Reels on Wheels (UK) Limited is a limited charitable company set up to raise funds for various reasons: At present it is dependent on the generosity of like-minded people who support Reels on Wheels and the Buddy System concept.
The primary aim is to help and encourage disabled and less able anglers to get back into fishing and to encourage as many people as possible to take up fishing as a recreational, outdoor activity. Going out on the road and travelling to fisheries, clubs and venues around the UK, has been the best way of meeting people and motivating them to either volunteer their help as fishing Buddies, or getting disabled people to talk about the possibility of getting back into fishing – or even trying it out as a new hobby.
:: The secondary aim is to help and encourage clubs and commercial fisheries to improve access for all anglers, irrespective of their (dis)ability, wherever practicable. Again, going to see the venues/lakes is the only way to judge whether or not we can help.
:: The third aim is to promote angling for everybody as a healthy, beneficial outdoor pursuit, by supporting less privileged groups and enabling them to participate in organised events.
How can we do this and how much will it cost?
:: We have formed a Committee to help with the everyday running and promoting of the organisation, and to help come up with new ideas and ways to achieve our goals.
:: We would like to raise enough funds so that we can lease a lake and make it fully disabled friendly, we have looked into this and it would be benificial to many individuals and local organisations.
If you know of anyone with health/mobility issues who could benefit from the help which we offer, free of charge, please point them in our direction or get in touch.
PLEASE NOTE:: The Buddy Truck and Buddy Bus have not been paid for by Reels on Wheels. We bought these privately and use them for the Organisation.

PLEASE HELP US TO HELP OTHERS & GIVE GENEROUSLY.
Did you know that if every Adult angler in England and Wales
who held a Licence made a one off donation of £2 to Reels
on Wheels we could open a purpose built fishery for all to use
with areas for kids, family workshops, cafe, tackle supplies and
fully disabled pegs and toilets and then the whole complex would
be turned into a Trust. Please help us to make a difference, your
donation will be put to good use no matter how big or small. Thank
you.

Hi Nick,
I wondered if you could help me, Ive been asked to resurrect the MV freedom disabled Angling Club down in Weymouth, Dorset. Ive been involved on fishing club committees both Coarse and Sea (currently a Chairman)since 1991 and was approached by the Freedom which is a specially adapted boat for wheelchairs. (You can see more at http://www.mvfreedom.co.uk). I have looked at the BDAA website but there is no information or rules for qualification as a disabled angler. I have also tried to contact Terry Moseley to no avail.
Im hoping to run it as any other club, with a monthly or bi-monthly competition and end of year trophies, but open to all. I hope you dont mind me asking but I need some information/contact or organisation that could give me some guidance.
Many Thanks in anticipation
Al Newman
PS Perhaps you might fancy a trip to blog it on your site.
